It is the first national park established in Nepal, in 1973. This region is exceptional in many ways, including its diverse landscapes and hundreds of animal species, some critically endangered. Despite human pressures, it has successfully provided a safe haven for wildlife. However, the fragile coexistence between humans and animals is a daily struggle for associations and park rangers, who must raise awareness and educate people about the benefits of living in harmony with nature… If the quality of life of nearby residents improves, the need to exploit the forest will diminish, and the kingdom of Shuklaphanta can look forward to a bright future.
